Abstract
2-(3-Benzoylphenyl)propionitrile which was an important intermediate of ketoprofen was synthesized from 3-benzoylbenzeacetonitrile via monomethylation in the presence of dimethyl carbonate,Pure compound was obtained and the content of crystal was about 99.7%. The influence of catalysts, reaction temperature and reaction time on reactions were discussed.
