Abstract

2-(1-((2-aminophenyl) imino) ethyl)-5-methoxyphenol was synthesized in absolute ethanol and its structure was characterized by IR and H1-NMR.It was followed by synthesizing its complexes with the metals(M=Cu2+,Mn2+,Ni2+,Zn2+,Co2+).Based on the investigation of the antibacterial activities of the compound and its complexes,it was proved that the complexes of Mn2+ displayed stronger antibacterial activity to Escherichia coli than the compound.
