The five master synthetic methods for 2-chloro-5-trifluromethyl pyridine are summarized in this paper. The application of 2-chloro-5-trifluromethyl pyridine as intermediates in pharmaceuticals,agrochemicals,biochemicals,particularly in herbicides,is briefly introduced.At the same time,the present study situation and development trend at home are expounded.
