Abstract

Suzuki-Miyaura reactions of 2-bromo-1-(trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy)naphthalene,readily available from 1-tetralone in two steps, afforded a varietyof 1,2-diarylnaphthalenes. The reactions proceed with excellentchemoselectivity in favor of the bromide position, while the triflateremained unattacked.
