Abstract
Benzimidazole derivatives are capable of increasing the nonspecific resistance of the organism to the action of unfavorable factors [1]. Previously [2, 3], we studied leukocyte reactions induced by 1-cyanobenzimidazole in experimental animals. Here we report on the effect of 1-cyanobenzimidazole (I), 6-nitro-1-cyanobenzimidazole (II), and 1-(4-nitrophenyloxy-[Z,E ]-carbimino)-6-nitrobenzimidazole (III) on the resistance of erythrocytes.
1-Cyanobenzimidazole derivatives increase rat erythrocyte resistance to unfavorable factors, suggesting their potential use in pharmacological studies.
