Abstract
2-aminomethyl benzimidazole derivatives had a wide range of biological activities as its antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,sedative,and anticancer.Their synthesis can be easily achieved by amination of 2-chloromethyl benzimidazole.To study their antifungal activity,2-(4-chlorophenyl) aminomethyl benzimidazole was synthesized in 38% overall yield starting from o-phenylenediamine via 2-chloromethyl benzimidazole.
