Abstract
3methoxy1propanol was synthesized from 3chloro1propanol. The optimum conditions of methoxy substitution reaction were determined as that the mole ratio of sodium methylate to 3chloro1propanol is 1.4~18, the mass content of sodium methylate in methanol solution is 27%~30%, 3chloro1propanol drops off 1h at reaction temperature of 70℃, and the reaction time is 5h. The yield was over 85% which is better than that reported in literatuies.
The optimal conditions for synthesizing 3-methoxy-1-propanol from 3-chloro-1-propanol are 1.4:1:8, 27%-30% sodium methylate in methanol, 70°C, 5 hours, and a yield of over 85%.
