1-(pyridine-3-methyl)-2-ethylbenzimidazole was synthesized by the reaction of 2-ethylbenzimidazole with 3-chloromethylpyridine,and charactyerized by MS,1H NMR and IR.The antibacterial activity experiments indicated that this compound resistanted different bacterial to different degree.It is with higher antifungal activity to Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn,Mycosphaerella sentina (Fr.) Schroeter,Pyricularia oryzae Cav,but not obvious antibacterial activity to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
