Synthesis and Anti-Inflammatory Properties of Substituted 5-(Tetrahydro-4-phenyl-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols

Abstract
5-(Tetrahydro-4-phenyl-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol was synthesized by the reaction of 4-phenyltetrahydropyran-4-carbonyl chloride with thiosemicarbazide and subsequent cyclization of the resulting amide in the presence of KOH. The condesation of the synthesized thiol with arylmethyl chlorides and amidomethyl halides gave S- and S,N-substituted triazole derivatives. The synthesized compounds were tested for anti-inflammatory activity.
Substituted 5-(Tetrahydro-4-phenyl-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols show anti-inflammatory properties when tested against a standard anti-inflammatory drug.
