Abstract
Applications of compounds containing trifluoromethyl and indanone in the fields of pesticide,medicine,dyes and functional materials were wide,because of their unique properties of physics and chemistry as well as excellent bioactivities. Herein the 5-trifluoromethyl-2-indanone was synthesized starting from 4-trifluoromethyl benzaldehyde with the Knoevenagel condensation,FriedelCrafts acylation and asymmetric ring opening of epoxide as the key steps through nine steps in 22% overall yields,and the product was characterized by1 H NMR,13 C NMR,HR-ESI-MS,element analysis and found to be in good agreement with its structure.
5-trifluoromethyl-2-indanone can be synthesized with high yields and excellent bioactivity for applications in pesticides, medicine, dyes, and functional materials.
