Abstract

5-(4-Carheboxypnyl)-10,15,20-tris(3-Hydroxyphenyl)chlorin,a photosensitizer,was synthesized starting from methyl 4-formylbenzoate,3-hydroxybenzaldehyde and pyrrol via Alder reaction,esterolysis,reduction and selective oxidation.The target compound was obtained in overall yield of 4.92%.The structure was characterized by IR,UV-Vis,MS and 1H NMR spectra.
