By using ortho-toluidine as a raw material,3-fluoro-4-methylbenzonitrile is successfully synthesized by going through nitrification,diazotization,fluorination,reductive and oxidation reactions.This result hasn't been repothedly achieved both at home and abroad.This kind of production is easy to control and the successful productivity is 48%.The final product is of great practical importance to the development and production of new pesticides.
