Abstract
Abstract The reaction of trimethylsilyl trichloroacetate with aldehydes and Retones in the presence of fluoride ion gives the trichloromethyl adducts. With potassium fluoride the reaction with cyclohexenone and crotonaldehyde results in clear 1,2 addition.
