Abstract
The microstructures and mechanical properties of the ferritic stainless steel 18Cr-2Mo used for landscape sculpture were investigated. The results show that the addition of the element V has little effect on the tensile properties and grain size of the steel, but the low-temperature impact toughness is enhanced greatly. The ductile-brittle transition temperature of the steel 18Cr-2Mo decreases from-10 ℃ to-30 ℃. And the pitting corrosion resistance of the steel18Cr-2Mo is improved when V is added into the steel.
Adding vanadium to ferritic stainless steel 18Cr-2Mo improves low-temperature impact toughness, ductile-brittle transition temperature, and pitting corrosion resistance, while having minimal effect on tensile properties and grain size.
