Abstract
Abstract Lobeline hydrochloride has been tested as a reagent for molybdenum(V). Molybdenum(VI) is reduced with hydrazine sulfate in hydrochloric acid solution to Mo(V) only and complexed with thiocyanate and lobeline which is extracted with chloroform. In the paper experimental conditions for the formation of the ion pair of lobeline with molybdenum thiocyanate are described and the composition of this complex is given.
