Abstract
The molecular structure of strontium bis(thiocyanate)-hexaethylene glycol(1/1) has been determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data(3121 observed reflections): triclinic, space group P\bar1, a=12.086(4), b=8.732(2), c=10.628(2) A, α=80.88(2), β=101.99(3), γ=100.55(2)°, Dm=1.48, Dc=1.48 g cm−3 for Z=2. The central Sr ion is coordinated by seven O atoms from the hexaethylene glycol moiety and two N atoms from the SCN groups; the Sr–O distances range from 2.603(5) to 2.750(5), while the Sr–N distances are 2.628(8) and 2.634(8) A. The hexaethylne glycol moiety assumes a GT2\barGT2GT2\barGT2GTG2 conformation.
