Abstract
A study of the effect of the polymerization temperature on the yield and properties of hydroxyl- and carboxyl-terminated polybutadiene prepolymers has been made. Polymerization reactions were conducted in dioxane with 4,4′-azobis(4-cyano-n-pentanol) and 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) as the free-radical initiators. The most significant result obtained was the observation that the polymerization temperature exhibited a pronounced effect on the heterogeneity index of the prepolymers.
