Preparative Methods: 2,4-dimethoxy-4′-hydroxybenzophenone is obtained by Friedel–Crafts reaction of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid with 1,3-dimethoxybenzene in nitrobenzene in the presence of ZnCl2 and POCl3.1 Handling, Storage, and Precautions: easy to handle, must be stored at 2–8 °C.
