Abstract
Abstract The pharmacological action of paramagnetic models of psychotropic compounds 1-oxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4(β-aminoethyl piperidine (Ia), 1-oxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-ethylsulphonyl-1,2,5,6-tetra-hydropyridine (IIIa) and of their derivatives has been studied. The radicals (Ia) u (III)a retain the type of biological action of initial compounds. Compounds (I) cause incorrect behavior in mice; compounds (III) have a pronounced sedative action. The distribution of (Ia) and (IIIb) in blood, brain, liver, kidney and spleen has been studied by the ESR method. Concentration of the radicals in blood and organs reaches its maximum in an hour and then decreases. Compounds (Ia) and (IIIb) penetrate into all organs at approximately the same rate. In the brain, however, the concentration of the substances remains high for a longer period of time. The half life times for (Ia) and (IIIb) are equal to 2±0.5 and 3±0.5 hours, respectively.
