Abstract
Abstract Recently developed biotechnological procedures were adopted for the labeling of l -[15N]aspartic acid and l -[15N]alanine. Eschericia coli B, immobilized in carrageenan, was used to prepare in a single step l -[15N]aspartic acid from [15N]ammonium fumarate. The product was the substrate for the preparation of l -[15N]alanine by immobilized Pseudomonas dacuhae. Both preparations yielded over 90% of 95% isotope-enriched products, in gram quantities. The compounds were suitable, after purification, for use in clinical studies.
