Abstract
C-Silylated Aldehydes By oxidation of 2-(tripropylsilyl)ethanol (4) with N-chlorosuccinimide 2-(tripropylsilyl)-acetaldehyde (8) is obtained. By heating 8 is rearranged to tripropylsilyl vinyl ether (9). – The silylating hydrogenation of the acrolein acetals 10 and 11 with trimethyl-(12) and tripropylsilane (13) leads to the acetals of 3-(trimethylsilyl)- and 3-(tripropylsilyl)-propionaldehyde (14–16), which are hydrolysed to the aldehydes 17 and 18. From 17 the enamines 21–23 are obtained. – 3-(Triphenylsilyl)-1-propanol (19) is oxidized to 3-(triphenylsilyl)propionaldehyde (20). – By bromination of 17 with dioxane-bromine adduct 24 2-bromo-3-(trimethylsilyl)propionaldehyde (25) is formed.
