Abstract
In ethyl acetate media 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline reacted to give 3,5-dichloronitrobenzene through diazotization and reductive deamination in one-pot.Ethyl acetate displayed not only as a solvent for two-phase reaction, but also as a pro-reducing (agent). The process was satisfactory with little pollution of waste acid and waste gas and had no by-products(e.g.ether).The factors including amounts of sodium nitrite, sulfuric acid and ethyl acetate, and reaction temperature were investigated.
Ethyl acetate media effectively deaminates 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline to 3,5-dichloronitrobenzene in one-pot, with minimal waste acid and gas pollution and no by-products.
