Abstract
Abstract Experiments in rats were performed in order to study the effect of diazoxide, a nondiuretic benzothiadiazine, on catecholamines. It was found that diazoxide increases the level of total circulating catecholamines at the same time as the blood glucose is also elevated. These changes are statistically significant. The significance of these findings and the difficulties of their interpretation are discussed.
