Abstract
Conclusions1.The reaction of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxopiperidin-1-oxyl with sodium hypobromite leads to a new series of nitroxyl radicals, namely, bromopyrrolinoxyls.2.Preparative methods were developed for 3,4-dibromo-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-Δ3-pyrrolin-1-oxyl and 3-bromo-4-carboxy-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-Δ3-pyrrolin-1-oxyl by the reaction of 2,2,-6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxopiperidin-1-oxyl with sodium hypobromite and a reaction mechanism was proposed.
