Abstract

Abstract Four-year-old Kristina was very excited as she helped Mother prepare for her birthday party. Mother paused for a moment and said, “Kristina, you invited four children to come to the party. We have fixed three bags of treats for them. How many more should we fix?” Kristina looked at the bags. She moved one toward her mother saying, “Jessica.” She moved another saying, “Emily,” and the third saying, “Laurie.” Then she looked at her mother and said, “We need one for Patty.”
