Abstract
6-Mercaptopurine was obtained in 93.4% yield by hydrolysis of the reaction product of 6-chloropurine and potassium ethyl xanthate,which was prepared from ethanol,carbon disulfide and potassium hydroxide..The affective factors of the molar ratio of the reactants,the reaction temperature and the time were investigated.The optimized conditions were as follows: n(6-chloropurine)∶n(potassium ethyl xanthate)=1∶1.05,m(6-chloropurine) ∶m(water)=1∶15.The organic solvents and phosphorus pentasulfide have been avoided with simple operation and workup.
