Abstract
Objective To assess the analgesic effect of Parecoxib Sodium and Tramadol Hydrochloride in patients undergoing anterior cervical surgery. Methods Sixty patients scheduled for anterior cervical surgery were randomly allocated to either group P(Parecoxib Sodium)or group T(Tramadol Hydrochloride).Parecoxib Sodium 40 mg or Tramadol Hydrochloride 2 mg/kg was injected 30 minutes before the end of surgery.Postoperative pain was assessed by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)in l,4,8,12,and 24 hours after surgery.Side effect such as respiratory depression, nausea, emesia, drowsiness, itch of skin and the analgesic use within 24 hours were also assessed. Results Both two groups got low VAS scores(less than 3).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).In group P,the incidence of drowsiness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting was 0,1/30 and 2/30 respectively, while in group T,it was 3/30,4/30,and 6/30 respectively.Difference in side effect between the two groups was significant(P0.05).Conclusion The study suggests that Parecoxib Sodium injected before the end of anterior cervical surgery provides satisfactory analgesic effect with lower side effect.Compared with Parecoxib Sodium,Tramadol Hydrochloride can provide satisfactory analgesic effect with higher incidence of nausea, vomiting and drowsiness.
