Abstract
Triethyl 1,1,2-ethanetricarboxylate was synthesized with diethyl malonate and ethyl chloroacetate in the presence of strong alkali.The new aprotic solvent N,N-dimethyl formamide was employed.A single factor experiment was conducted to investigate the influence of reaction conditions on the product yield.Using sodium hydroxide as alkali,the reaction conditions were further optimized using the orthogonal experiment.The optimal reaction conditions were molar ratios of diethyl malonate to sodium hydride and to ethyl chloroacetate at 1.4∶1∶1,with reaction temperature at 40℃,reaction time for 8h,and the dropping duration of ethyl chloride for 45 min.Under the optimal conditions,the product yield was83.3%.The product was characterized by IR and 1 H NMR.
