A.-A few patients complain of sore patches on the tongue after the use of certain brands of toothpaste. When a change is made to another brand the soreness usually disappears, thus indicating that the use of the toothpaste is related to the soreness. Most toothpastes contain six or seven components, some of which, such as antiseptics, may be slightly irritant. To others some patients may very rarely have an idiosyncrasy
