Abstract
The 1H and 13C NMR resonances for 16 acridin‐9(10H)‐ones substituted with amino or (1,3‐benzothiazol‐2‐yl)amino groups were completely and unequivocally assigned by the concerted application of gs‐COSY, gs‐HMQC and gs‐HMBC experiments. Evidence for hydrogen bond and amino–imino tautomerism is presented for 1‐ and 4‐substituted acridin‐9(10H)‐ones. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
