Abstract
a temperature range from 0 to 330°C at the liquid-vapour saturation curve. The hydrogen sulphate ion is virtually the dominant species above 250°C, whereas at 0°C the sulphate is the dominant species. Above ca. 250 °C and at dilute solutions the OSO, unit of the HS04 anion has C,, symmetry. In concentrated NH4HS04 solutions and in the melt (m.p. 149°C) v,SO, (HS04) shows noncoincidence of the isotropie and anisotropie Raman frequencies (intermolecular coupling), indicating a formation of bonded dimers or high-
