Abstract
Abstract The crystal structure of trichlorotris(hexamethylphosphoramide)praseodymium(III), Pr(OPN3C6H18)3Cl3, has been determined from 4210 diffractometer data using direct methods and Fourier techniques. The compound crystallized in space group P2 1 c with z = 4 and a = 10·434(3)b = 16·693(5), c = 22·298(6) A , and β = 71·067(6) degrees. Full matrix anisotropic refinement of the 335 structural parameters led to an R value of 0·063 and a wR of 0·060. The structure consists of discrete monomeric units comprising a Pr(III) ion coordinated to three hexamethylphosphoramide molecules via the oxygen atoms and to three Cl− ions forming an octahedral coordination sphere of quasi-C2ν symmetry. Metal-ligand bond distances average 2·721(3) for PrCl and 2·353(6) for PrO.
