Abstract
An interaction mechanism between ethyl violet and nucleic acids and their quantitative determination have been reported. Reaction mechanism indicated that binding of EV to yRNA proceeds mainly via electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bond formation with the phosphate groups. Resonance light scattering (RLS) of ethyl violet was greatly enhanced by nucleic acids. Based on this, ethyl violet was used as the RLS probe for determination of nucleic acids.
