Abstract
The fluorination of 4-chlorobenzaldehyde was studied in solvents using anhydrous KF as the fluorinating agent. The selection of solvents, catalyst screening, process optimizing and reaction kinectics were discussed. Under the optimum reaction conditions of n(K.F):n (PCAD):n(Ph4PBr):n(Cat.A)=3:1:0.1:0.05, reaction temperature 210℃, reaction time 8h and nitrobenzene as solvent, the yield of 4- fluorobenzaldehyde was 80.9% and the purity was 99.5%.
Study Snapshot
The optimal reaction conditions for 4-fluorobenzaldehyde synthesis with 80.9% yield and 99.5% purity were 3:1:0.1:0.05, 210°C, 8h, and nitrobenzene as solvent.
