Abstract
The Schiff base of [1-(5,7-dichloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yl)-3-substituted phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl] methylene] aniline (2a-j) have been synthesized by condensation reaction of 1-(5,7-dichloro-1,3- benzoxazol-2-yl)-3- substituted phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde derivatives with aromatic amines in methanol. The reaction carried out at room temperature on stirring. The target compounds (2a-j) were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, Mass and 13C NMR spectral analysis, also subjected to antimicrobial, antioxidant and larvicidal activity. The compounds (2b), (2e) and (2f) showed marked antimicrobial activity and compounds (2b), (2a) and (2e) acts as DPPH scavenging agents. The compound (2c), (2d) and (2f) acts as reducing agents. The compounds (2b) and (2c) showed potent larvicidal activity.
Novel [1-(5,7-Dichloro-1,3-Benzoxazol-2-yl)-3-substituted phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl) methylene] aniline derivatives show antimicrobial, antioxidant, and larvicidal activities
