Abstract
The synthesis of diphenylmethanol under ultrasonic wave irradiation was studied.Using Zn-sodium hydroxide as reducing agent and ethanol as solvent,diphenylmethanol was synthesized from diphenyl ketone.The suitable reaction conditions were as follows: 1.83 g(10.0 mmol)diphenyl ketone,1.97 g(30.0 mmol) Zn,1.97 g(49.3 mmol)sodium hydroxide,20 mL 95% ethanol,reaction time is 20 min.The yield of diphenylmethanol was up to 90.2%.This method possessed a series advantages,such as high yield,and shorted experimental time.
