Abstract
Using Bisphenol A as starting material, 2,2-Bis (3-bromo-4-hydroxy-5-nitrophenyl) propane was synthesized via nitration and bromation with the total yield of 83.1%. Its structure was certified by IR,~1HNMR,~(13) CNMR and MS after being cleaned by repeated crystallization.
2,2-Bis (3-bromo-4-hydroxy-5-nitrophenyl) propane is a promising synthetic alternative to bisphenol A for various applications, such as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
