Abstract
Chlorprothixene (Taractan - Roche) is a new psychotropic drug whose structure differs slightly from that of the phenothiazines. There is no striking pharmacological difference between it and chlorpromazine and other phenothiazines: it produces sedation and hypothermia, antagonises histamine, acetylcholine and adrenaline, and shows antiemetic activity.
