Introducing: Threads 🧵

Your research, connected—Threads turns scattered searches into a seamless journey of knowledge discovery.

A New Way to Interact with Science

The best research happens when one question naturally leads to another, creating a continuous path of knowledge discovery. Yet for decades, traditional academic search tools have forced us into a disconnected cycle of searching, reading, and restarting.

Today, we’re changing that with the launch of Threads.

Threads reimagines how you interact with peer-reviewed research by turning isolated searches into flowing conversations. Built on a foundation of over 200 million peer-reviewed papers, Consensus now helps you not just find answers, but unlock a deeper, more connected exploration of research.

Dive Deeper Without Starting Over

Threads carries your context forward, allowing you to build on each query without repeating yourself. Your research becomes faster, more natural, and more aligned with how you actually think and work.

For example, after asking “Are IQ scores stable over a lifetime?” you might find that IQ is generally stable from late childhood, but more variable earlier in life. You can then follow up with “What factors influence change?” and continue exploring. Consensus remembers your conversation and keeps the exploration flowing.

Using Threads is Simple

  • Start a thread by typing a question into the search bar, or use Command + K to open a search from anywhere in Consensus.
  • Ask follow-up questions using the follow up input at the bottom of the page; no need to retype or start over.
  • Stuck or need inspiration? We’ll suggest smart follow-up questions to keep exploring.
  • Save and share your threads easily. Every thread is automatically saved to your history and can be shared using a single link.
  • Start a new thread anytime by clicking the new thread button in the top left corner of the sidebar or using Command + K again.

How Researchers Are Using Threads

Don’t just search. Start a thread.

Threads represents the next evolution in how researchers interact with scientific literature. It’s not just about finding papers, it’s about engaging in a dynamic conversation with peer-reviewed research to uncover deeper insights and new discoveries faster than ever before.
