Abstract
The crystal structures of 2-(2-methoxyphenyl)pyridine 1-oxide, C 12 H 11 NO 2 (1), and 2-(2-methoxyphenyl)-3-methylpyridine 1-oxide, C 13 H 13 NO 2 (2), have been determined. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the aromatic rings is 66.6 (1) for (1) and 74.70 (6)° for (2). Weak C-H...O hydrogen bonds govern the crystal packing.
