Abstract
The structural and therapeutic diversity of small heterocyclic molecules has attracted the attention of organic and medicinal chemists. Thiazolidin-4-ones are emerging prominently as pharmacologically important molecules because of their diverse bioactivities, such as antiviral (Andolsek et al., 1971), anticonvulsant (Ragab et al., 1997), anti-inflammatory and antithyroidal. In view of the above, 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3phenyl-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one, (I), was synthesized and its crystal structure is reported here. The molecule is being assessed for biological activity.
