Abstract
The molecular structures of 4-amino-2-methylthio-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine trihydrate (AMT, C 5 H 7 N 3 OS.3H 2 O), 4-amino-1-methyl-2-methylthio-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine (AMEMT, C 5 H 9 N 3 OS), 4-amino-2-methoxy-1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine (AMH, C 6 H 9 N 3 O 2 ) and 4-amino-2-methoxy-1-methyl-5-nitroso-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine monohydrate (AMEMONO, C 6 H 8 N 4 O 3 .H 2 O) show that, as has been reported for analogous compounds, there is extensive electron delocalization in the pyrimidine rings of all four compounds
