Abstract
In organic solvents, acetylcholine chloride accelerates lipid oxidation and hydroperoxide decomposition to free radicals similarly to cationic surfactants. The rates of radical formation in the reaction of acetylcholine with cumyl, tert-butyl, and limonene hydroperoxides and hydrogen peroxide at 37 °C were estimated by the inhibitor method using different radical acceptors. In an aqueous medium, hygroscopic acetylcholine does not react with hydroperoxides.
