Abstract
Abstract Glycyl-l glutamine has been shown to maintain the acetylcholinesterase content of the preganglionically denervated superior cervical ganglion of the cat. It acts at a stage prior to the aggregation of the monomeric G 1 form of the enzyme to higher polymers . George Koelle proposes that it may do so by regulating the transcription of DNA to mRNA, in a manner analogous to that of triiodothyronine. Other small peptides may function similarly .
