Abstract
In this connection the writers' attention has been drawn to the new drug oxyfedrine [L3-(B-hydroxy-a-methyl-phenylethylamino)-3'-methoxypropiophenone hydrochloride]. Preliminary studies [5] have shown that oxyfedrine has a positive inotropic and bathmotropic action on the heart through its marked stimulating effect on coronary ~-adrenoreceptors. Oxyfedrine has also been found to stimulate ~-adrenoreceptors in the smooth muscles of animals, relaxing their tone [4].
