Abstract
Various researchers have reported on heterocycles containing adamantyl radicals, which were tested for antidepressant [1], antimicrobial and analgesic [2], -adrenergic [3], and antiviral [4] activity. We have also studied the antiviral activity of such heterocycles in a series of compounds including 5-(1-adamantyl)-2-methylpyrrole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (I), 3-(1-adamantyl)pyrazole (II), 3-(1-adamantyl)-1-phenylpyrazoline (III), 3-(1-adamantyl)isoxazole (IV), 5-(1-adamantyl)-3,4-trimethyleneisoxazole (V), 5-(1-adamantyl-5hydroxy-isoxazoline (VI), 4-(1-adamantylmethyl)-2chlorothiazole (VII), 4-(1-adamantylamino)-2-(phenylamino)thiazole hydrobromide (VIII), 4-(1-adamantylamino)-2mercaptopyrimidine (IX), and 2-(1-adamantyl)imidazo[2,1-b]thiazole (X). Previously, we described the synthesis and physicochemical characteristics of compounds I [5], III [6], VIII [7], and X [8]:
