Abstract
The addition of dimethylamine and dimethylphosphine, respectively, to (CH3)3SiCHCH2, (CH3)2Si(CHCH2)2, and (C6H5)2Si(CHCH2)2 in the presence of LiN(CH3)2 or LiP(CH3)2 as catalyst has been investigated. The addition to the methylvinylsilanes gives the 2-amino-, and 2-phosphinoethyl derivatives in high yields (> 80%), while with (C6H5)2Si(CHCH2)2 a vigorous polymerization occurs. The methylvinylsilanes can be polymerized at a lower rate in the presence of catalytic amounts of n-C4H9Li, LiN(CH3)2 or LiP(CH3)2. The products obtained were identified by analytical and spectroscopic (PMR and IR) methods.
