Abstract
The sulfoxides derived from 2,3-dihydro-4H-naphtho[1,2-b'lthiopyran and its 4-phenyl and Cox0 derivatives, as well as the analogous sulfoxides in the 2,3-dihydro-1H-naphtho[2,1-blthiopyran series, have been synthesized and their structures established by spectroscopic methods, especially 'Hand I3C nmr. Onphotolysis these sulfoxides have been found to react by a rather inefficient photochemical deoxygenation pathway. IAN W. J. STILL, PARKASH C. ARORA, S. KHAQAN HASAN, GERALD W. KUTNEY, LAWRENCE Y. On a synthktise les sulfoxydes provenant du dihydro-2,3 4H-naphto[l,2-b] thiopyranne et ses derives phenyl-4 et 0x0-4 ainsi que les sulfoxydes analogues des series dihydro-2,3 IH-naphto[2,1-b] thiopyranne et on a Ctabli leurs structures en utilisant des methodes spectroscopiques, plus particulikrement la rmn du lH et du 13C. On a trouvk que laphotolyse de ces sulfoxydes se produit par un processus de deoxygenation photochimique qui est relativement inefficace. [Traduit par le journal]
