Abstract
Objective:To observe effects of (-) clausenamide on memory impairment, neural plasticity, apoptosis and protein phosphatase activity. Methods:Morris water maze, electric physiological and biochemical methods and three apoptotic models were used in the present studies. Results:(-) Clausenamide could improve Aβ (25 35) imduced impairment of spatial descrimination, incrase cortical ChAT activity and potentiat basic synaptic transmission and HFS induced LTP amptitude as well as increase hippocampal synapses and Mossy fiber sprouting. The protein phosphatas calcineurin and calpain activity in hippocampus and cortex were also increased by (-) clausenamide. Conclusion:(-) clausena mide is considered as a promissing antidementia drug.
