Abstract
AIM:To study the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of esflurbiprofen gel.METHODS: Animal models of acute and subacute inflammations(granuloma)were induced respectively by dimethyl benzene in mice and cotton ball in rats to observe the anti-inflammation effect of esflurbiprofen gel, while hot-plate test and writhing test were adopted to study the analgesic effect of esflurbiprofen gel.Animals were grouped according to the administration of 2%,1.5% and 1% esflurbiprofen gel, with diclofenac emulsion(1%)taken as positive control.RESULTS:In mice,2% and 1.5% esflurbiprofen gel could reduce ear edema(P<0.01)and elevate percentage of pain threshold for hot-plate test at 30,45 min after drug administration(P<0.01,P<0.05). 2%, 1.5% and 1% esflurbiprofen gel could suppress granuloma(P<0.01),alleviate the pain caused by acetic acid in rats(P<0.01). CONCLUSION:Esflurbiprofen gel possesses obvious anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
